Robert Solé
Robert Solé is a writer, journalist, director of Le Monde des Livres and author of a daily column in Le Monde. He is the author of several novels published by Seuil (Le Tarbouche, 1992; Le Sémaphore d’Alexandrie, 1994, La Mamelouka, 1996; Mazag, 2000), as well as the Dictionnaire amoureux de l’Egypte (Plon, 2001) and various historical essays devoted to Egypt, his country of origin. His latest novel, Une Soirée au Caire, recounts the narrator's return home after 25 years of exile. Cairo comes alive in colourful characters viewed by the sympathetic and sensitive eye of the author.
